Broken Wii

Doh. While fooling around with my homemade Wii component cables I accidentally broke off the Pb and Pr pins of my Wii's YPbPr connector:

Trying to fix it just made it worse. I only have the Y signal left, so mini-Mii is angry now that he only shows up in black & white:

  1. Sigh. Another Wii tragedy. Well, at least nobody lost an eye or a TV screen this time.

  2. Suckage. Surely this is fixable? Maybe you need to bite the bullet, open up the Wii and solder some direct lines to the Cb and Cr lines. Failing that, surely someone has bricked their Wii by now…

Weird! Comments awaiting moderation can be read before they are moderated!

  3. Yes, I am trying to fix it, but unfortunately the pins are broken inside the housing as well, so it is a huge pain since they are so tiny.

  4. I saw Jeff’s comment before it was moderated into existence. I presume you mean that a value in my cookie for efaller.com matches Jeff’s – but what value? I can’t imagine we have anything the same in them!

    Cookie fight!!

  5. Hmm you saw Jeff’s comment? That doesn’t make any sense since you seemingly should not have his cookie. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I have noticed that WordPress seems to be pretty buggy. I’ll check if there is a new version available and upgrade.

  6. Yep, I saw his comment with the text “awaiting moderation” above it, and the link to his site was active, making the moderation system effectively useless (for me).

    I didn’t steal the cookie!
