If I have low expectations, then in the event that I do get good service I can be pleasantly surprised, but if I get bad service then I won't be too disappointed. I think it works out. Last time I took my car in for a suspected turbo leak, they drove the car in the morning, and said there was definitely a problem. They had the car all day, and then when I picked it up in the evening they assured me there was no problem. They even said they'd be happy not to charge me for the warranty "work". One more reason to do the service yourself…
