This is a Luwak civet, which lives in the mountain forests of Indonesia and eats coffee fruits. It poops out the intact coffee bean seed, which is then collected, washed, roasted, and turned into the famous Kopi Luwak, the most expensive coffee in the world. Supposedly the digestive juices from the cat's stomach break down long bitter-flavored proteins, resulting in coffee that tastes better than normal and is also infused with the flavors of various other fruits and berries in the civet's diet.
I tried a cup of the Kopi Luwak coffee since it's comparatively cheap here (vs. the US/Europe). It did taste distinctly different from regular coffee, but I didn't think the taste lived up to all the hype (though I am not really a regular coffee drinker anyway, so I am no expert). The cup I had was not filtered very well so I got a bunch of the coffee grounds stuck in my mouth on the last sip, leaving a cat-poo coffee flavor in my mouth for several hours afterward, which honestly felt sort of gross.
