The seats themselves are made out of carbon fibre, which is neat, but they don't easily lean up and down without a lot of manual tugging and jerking, inevitably spilling the coffee of the person behind you. The flight attendant was British and just sighed and said "you can blame the French for designing that" while cleaning up all the spills.
